The British Woodworking Federation (BWF) is hosting its annual Members’ Day on Thursday 11th July 2019, at Hellidon Lakes Golf and Spa Hotel near Daventry.
The BWF is the trade association for the woodworking and joinery manufacturing industry in the UK. It has over 700 members, from manufacturers and installers to distributors and suppliers. The BWF promotes the use of wood for all possible building purposes. It focuses particularly on the cost effectiveness and sustainability of timber, and on safe and ethical practices throughout the industry.
BWF Members’ Day 2019 is a chance for people to meet up and learn more about current issues and opportunities within the joinery industry. This year the key theme will centre around sustainability. Booking is essential as this event usually sells out, but as in previous years, BWF members are entitled to one free space. Qwood will be the Silver Sponsor of this event for the fourth year running.
Qwood manufactures unique timber composite profiles for use on windows and doors. Its profiles are designed to be used along with traditional timber window frames and doors. Qwood profiles, such as its clip-in parting and staff beads for sash windows, have many advantages over traditional timber. Composite profiles do not warp or rot, so less maintenance is needed. These profiles are also free from knots or imperfections, making them easier to cut than timber and minimising waste. FSC and PEFC certifications are available for all of Qwood’s products.
Among Qwood’s unique products is the new Qwood Rain Deflector for doors. This profile was selected as a finalist in the Elements of Innovation Awards at the W Exhibition in 2018. You will be able to see this product, along with demonstrations of Qwood’s other timber composite profiles, at BWF Members’ Day 2019.
