ELAG Student Awards Judging at Cass
The Sir John Cass School of Art, Architecture and Design is a highly prestigious faculty at London Metropolitan University. The school is known as The Cass, and it offers courses in a wide spectrum of subjects, all of which encourage creative artistic thought and the practical implementation of those ideas.
The Cass gives its students the opportunity to learn from excellent teachers in a huge range of artistic disciplines; urban design to fine art, creative writing to visual communication, theatre to textiles. Many of its students have won national awards and worldwide recognition, but The Cass also awards its own students when they have excelled.
Quantum Flooring Solutions is extremely proud to sponsor the Best Architecture Detail Award at The Cass. We would like to offer massive congratulations to the winner for 2019, Drew Hopper. His proposal was based on a site in Longton, one of the six towns which are part of Stoke-on-Trent.
Drew’s project design is centred around creating safe and attractive public spaces within the town. The proposal is to complement the surrounding buildings with two wooden pavilions, along with green areas between the new and existing structures. This understated improvement to thoroughfares which are in disrepair is intended to encourage local pride at a minimal cost, without the need for major construction projects and the disruption they can bring.
As a company that prides itself on sustainability, Quantum Flooring Solutions is particularly pleased that such an eco-friendly and community focused proposal won the prize this year. Well done Drew, and thank you to The Cass, for allowing Quantum to support this worthy winner of the Best Architecture Detail Award.
