Quantum Flooring Solutions offers a wide range of PVC transition profiles. These provide a neat and safe finish to the edges and joins of floorcoverings; protecting them from damage and helping to prevent them from becoming a trip hazard. There are ramp trims and bevel strips which are flexible edgings that help trim the edges and joins to vinyl floorcoverings when they need to be finished off to a different thickness. Also, cover joints, thresholds and ‘Topline’ floor trims that are a selection of edgings that cover and protect joins and transitions in different types and thicknesses of floorcoverings.
A choice of colours means each transition trim can be coordinated with internal décor schemes. Where applicable they can also be curved on-site to accommodate bends and corners laid into walkway floor designs. Quantum Flooring Solutions’ transition products also include primary entrance matting, and tactile surfaces for the approaches to external stairs.
Industry research has shown that 94 % of all dirt that enters a building is brought in on the soles of shoes or by wheeled traffic. This dirt creates a health and safety issue due to the increased risks of slips, trips or falls. By specifying the correct type of entrance matting dirt and moisture transfer into a building is restricted and this risk can be significantly reduced. (read more...)
The ‘Topline’ range from Quantum Flooring Solutions offers a floor trim system for installation in contract and domestic locations. The range includes bases and top trim profiles that create a neat, safe and durable junction between adjacent floor finishes. The different sizes of bases and tops allow for almost all floorcovering thicknesses to be accommodated. The t (read more...)
Bevel Strips are used to take the edge of an installed floorcovering down to the base flooring. They protect the floor material edge and reduce the risk of the junction becoming a trip hazard. Different ramp back heights accommodate a range of floorcovering gauges. Bevel strips are protective edge trims which help to create a safe transition at floorcovering edges. PVC trims are single profiles that are secured to the residual floor and adjoining floorcoverings are fixed in place up to either side of the profile. They protect the edges from fraying and becoming a trip hazard.
PVC cover joints are positioned between vinyl edges where they cover the joints in a subfloor to reduce the risk of the floorcovering cracking or splitting. They are not a full expansion joint; but they do help to maintain and protect the floorcovering in a safe condition.
At approaches to stairs there should be a (corduroy) tactile surface. This is a Building Regulation guideline which helps indicate that a change in level is ahead. “Guidance on the use of Tactile Paving Surfaces” from the Department of Transport and the Equality Act (2010) state what is required. The 400mm by 400mm tiles from Quantum Flooring Solutions can help con (read more...)
